Friday night the parents, Todd, Erica and Kaya came up to Kalahari for their grand display of fireworks. My mother said, "Those are the best fireworks I have ever seen." One right after another. The whole show seemed like a finale. Kaya stayed awake for the show and didn't cry a bit. It actually kept him still!
Saturday out at the cottage was great though there were a lot of boats out making ocean like waves against our shore.
Due to the recent flooding the water is contaminated so we brought a pool out for Kaya to enjoy some water fun. He sure doesn't like getting his face wet.
Todd and I took Kaya on his first Jet Mate ride. Kaya didn't care for Todd driving like a mad man. Actually all the boat traffic made for a pretty rough ride. Kaya enjoyed driving slow though.
Reuber jam session Saturday afternoon. Kaya put on quite the show. We could hear the neighbor kids saying "there is a baby over there playing the drums."
The grandparents also enjoyed the entertainment. Grandpa, sorry we didn't know all the songs you requested. Maybe next year we'll know a couple more that fit your genre.

It was a picture perfect weekend until Sunday. I was out doing things in the garage and Erica had left to look at some dresses. Kaya was sleeping and I would check on him periodically. The last time I poked my head in I heard him and went inside. I walked past the steps and caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of my eye and here Kaya was standing at the top of the steps. I thought to myself, "How did you get out of your crib?" He wasn't crying so I walked up and talked to him for a minute. He must of been out for a couple 5 minutes cause he had stuff dragged out of a junk drawer from Erica's room. This included a phone charger, breath drops and Pamparin pills. The Pamparin pills lid was off and there were 3 and 2/3 of them laying on the floor. He had obviously sucked and bit on the one and I had no idea how many others he had eaten. So I called Erica and we called poison control and they told me the 4 of those were toxic to him because of the 500mg of Tylenol per pill. Again we had no way of knowing how many he had eaten so we took up to the ER. They made him chug a sippy cup with charcoal and chocolate milk, that was a mess. Then we waited for 4 hours, which is the amount of time for the tylenol to be 100% in his blood. 4 hours later they took blood and the results came back negative. He had nothing in his blood. He must of only ate that partial one and decided it was yucky and spit it out. Thank goodness. In conclusion some how he managed to get out of his crib which still baffles us. We're just glad he didn't try to climb down the stairs. We have since moved his baby monitor to a wider position and intend on using it on a regular basis. Erica generally does use it but I never thought he would hop out of his crib. Freaky!
