Kaya toddler bed

This past weekend Kaya crawled over the railing of his crib and it doesn't go any lower so we decided it was time to ditch the rail and turn it into a toddler bed. He had a big smile on his face when I took him in his room to see his bed. Now the challenge is keeping him in it. We propped a gate up at his doorway so he can't wonder any farther than his room.

Weekend with friends

Our friends Becky, Chris, Leah, Jeremy and Mason came up for the weekend. Saturday we went snowboarding. It was a cold ride but nice because it wasn't so busy.
A lot of games were played. The game we enjoyed the best was Loaded Questions. Snowman kit being put to good use...Checkout this teepee my Aunt Peggy made for Todd and I when we were little. Mason and Kaya played in it for a while. I guess Mason is really into forts right now.Sunday we went to the gym and played basketball and swam. Kaya did really well in the kiddy pool. He's really starting to warm up to the water. Should be a good time out at the cottage this summer.Looks like we're going to have to get him a basketball hoop.

Sunday fun

I sure am starting 2009 off right with lots of posts. We went down to Erin and Christina's to meet their newborn Taylor. Actually this was our 2nd encounter. He sure is a tiny guy. Hard to imagine when Kaya was that size. Erica, is it time for #2??
Of course when I go to hold him he flips me the bird. And no I did not position his hand that way.
This screen is in place so E&C's 4 cats don't get in and take naps with Taylor. Or bat at his precious little face.
When we arrived at grandma & grandpa engles house grandma had a fresh apple pie waiting. I tell you what it's like clock work whenever I go over there and it's great! Kaya thought so too but he enjoyed the ice cream more.
Kaya enjoys playing with the poker chips. This time he made quite the mess out of them.

Kaya's first ski trip

Some of you were for it and some against it, regardless we took him to Devil's Head yesterday and headed straight to the magic carpet run.  At first I don't think he knew what to think but had a smile on his face the first time down.  After 3 runs he was finished and told me "all done."  I knew he wouldn't want to ski all day and was impressed that he went down 3 times.  I think the fact that he can't walk in the skiis made him uncomfortable.

Erica and I finished out the day on snow boards.  The snow was decent but there were so many people that the long lines took a way from it a little.  I might just stick to Thursday cheap nights.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you and yours. We had a very adventurous night in Baraboo.
Our friends had a fondue party and everyone brought a little something. I enjoyed the beef tenderloin and horseradish sauce the most. This party was also an ugly sweater party. I parted my hair up nice and even sported a mustache for part of the evening! The kids seemed to enjoy themselves and ran around like wild animals.
Here is Erin and his new born son Taylor. He was the best behaved kid that night.Jon and Taylor.
Later that evening we ventured to our neighbors and enjoyed a good night of games. The girls beat the guys in a interesting game. Humming the songs was probably the trickiest part of the game.Kaya and I enjoying Heath shakes New Year's Day evening.
