Our trip out west and some

Well, Brad finally convinced me to update the bog! I don' know if anyone has noticed, but since Brad has become a slave to facebook the blog has been somewhat neglected. Thus he continually hounds me to update the blog. It has been a a crazy 1 1/2 months to say the least. I start work tomorrow at the Meadows Nursing Home which will be a provisional position as I will be filling in for a social worker who is on maternity leave. I have been applying for jobs, but there is little out there. I had surgery a little over 2 weeks ago to have a polyp removed from my vocal cord. Hopefully the surgery cured the recurrent hoarseness I was experiencing. Kaya and I went to Utah to visit family and help clean and organize my brother/parent's house. Kaya enjoyed playing with his cousins & the 2 dogs & spending time with his grandparents, uncles & aunt. Most of the days I was busy cleaning, but I did manage to get out on the slopes at Sundance and board for an afternoon. The weather was in the upper 60's the first several days and then snowed that last few days.
Kaya enjoys eating apples with his cousins, Nick and Iya. Nick tried to convince Kaya that he was in fact his uncle rather than cousin because he is 15 years older than Kaya.
Kaya and Iya enjoy playing with the dogs in the driveway. Kaya really enjoys being around dogs and took a real liking to Beamer who is the small dog. Sorry Owen and Tara, I forgot what kind of dog Beamer is.
Kaya couldn't wait to get out of the house and do some exploring on the mountain with his cousins, Cappis & Iya.
My brother Orrin, brother Owen and his wife Tara, their 4 children & dog and my momma pose for a pic before Tara and the kids head back to Arizona.
Kaya being restless and his cousins.
Hot mommas- Erica and Tara
Kaya spending some quality time with uncle, I mean cousin Nick while enjoying some ice cream.
Spring cleaning, WHAT!! We filled 6 of these trailers full of stuff from the house & garage. 2 went to the dump, 2 to DI (thrift store) and 2 to church garage sale. My brother attempted to figure out the square footage of junk we hauled off... I think he still might be calculating as there is still probably 2 more trailers of stuff in the house and garage that needs to go!
This is the view from the house! Breathtaking....
This is the neighbors house where Kaya enjoyed spending time playing with Anna & Max. Kaya really liked going down the slide and jumping on the tramp. Since our trip, I have observed Kaya singing sweet nothings to Anna as he inserts her name into the song he is singing. Way cute:)
Thankfully, the Chicago O'Hare Airport had a children's museum for Kaya to stretch his legs in as we had a 2 hour layover. There is nothing like running into family in the airport. Kaya and I were on the same flight as Aunt Peggy and Uncle Roger, they were coming back from Vegas.

Logan Warren Reuber

Todd and Nichole had Logan on Tuesday around 8:15pm. He weighs 7.7 lbs and is 19" long. Congratulations guys!
Photos compliments of Steve & Chris Reuber. Looks like I need to give a photography class to the rest of my family... :)
Erica has been out in Utah visiting her family since the16th and I pick her and Kaya up today. I'm pretty excited about that. We'll probably go down to Peoria in a couple weeks or so to meet Logan.

Logan, Kaya Lake

Erica organized and my mom hosted a shower for Nichole 2 weeks ago. I'm not going to go into much detail on that because I was out with the guys, including Kaya and Erica claims she'll make a post one of these days.
Checkout this cake our friend Tennille made. Email me if you want her to make you a cake or cupcakes for an event and I'll give you her contact info.Erica made this diaper cake. She's so crafty.
This was part of some game. This is what Logan is going to look like...
Erica had a minor surgery last Friday. Have you ever noticed how you can pick her unique raspy voice out of a crowd? Well that's about to change. She had a polyp removed from her vocal chords. It's my understanding that it was pretty large, say the thickness of a noodle and as long as half of your pinky finger. It would rub against her vocal chords causing irritation. Once her new voice arrives we're going to get a family band going with her on lead vocals :)
Sunday we headed out to Devil's Lake. Plenty of room for Kaya to run wild. There was still a lot of snow and ice on the trails but Kaya loved it. Especially eating the dirty snow that everyone walks on and falling down in a muddy patch in the grass.
Walking stick.

busy busy

Erica really needs to give an update one of these days. I have some pics that I will have to sort through and get up in the next couple days. I've been busy working on a Baraboo/Reedsburg Hocky highlights video for my neighbor Neil. Here's a short sample:

Picasa

I'm pretty good at keeping my photos organized but have always struggled to find a good interface to organize, edit and sort on the fly until now. I've been using Google's Picasa and it is amazing. It has some great features like auto red eye, photo filters, create quick collages, picture videos and upload directly to your blog or online photo album right from the program. You should download and check it out. Best of all it's free!

You might be thinking this looks easier than it really is but no, it really is that easy...

Lake Wisconsin Fishery

Us fellas headed out to Lake Wisconsin for our annual fishery. Believe it or not we didn't catch a single fish. As Chris O. stated we sure caught a bunch of bottle bass though. The weather was like night and day compared to last year. We didn't use shantys but the wind got kind of brisk at times.
Roger cooking up a brat.

Some children even made it out this year. Parker and Taylor!

I skipped a week

So I got tied up with life and wasn't able to update last week. Christa, Kyle and Lucas came up and we enjoyed their company.Last Saturday I picked up a sled on clearance and pulled Kaya around the yard and there were a couple hills just beyond our yard boundaries.

Last Saturday evening we got together with Erica's co-workers. They were a good time. Erica lost her job a month ago at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. All of these folks in this photo did too. Erica can explain more but they shut down the department they worked in. She is on the lookout for jobs and has some leads but we'll make it work regardless.
